Sundstrand Corp. Installing 2nd Power Generation System

Sundstrand Corp., located in Rockford, Illinois, has just installed their 2nd power generation system. In 1991, Ballard Engineering of Rockford, Illinois designed and installed a power generation system using six (6) Waukesha 1150 kw Enginators at Sundstrand's Plant #4.

Sundstrand was pleased enough with the system and its savings that Ballard was hired to install a 2nd power generation system at their plant #1 in Rockford.

Charles Equipment Company, the local Waukesha distributor, provided three (3) 1150 kw Waukesha Model VHP7100GSI Enginators which will operate continuously at 3450 kw using 130°F intercooler water. Cooling equipment was supplied by the Edward Newell Company and the switchgear by Zenith Controls.

The new plant went on line in June, 1996 and will operate during Edison's (CECo) peak energy period, which is 9 am to 10 pm, Monday through Friday.
